The Red-breasted Goose is a majestic bird that spends its winters in the Black Sea region and has its breeding grounds in Siberia. The exhibition The Route of the Red-breasted Goose lets the audience experience the perilous route of thousands of kilometers this bird undertakes every 6 months.

This interactive exhibition was shown along the migratory route of the Red-breasted Goose in Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, and Romania. Each exhibition was built locally for each show, using renewable and recyclable materials available locally. Every exhibition component was designed using open-source software and hardware principles.

The components can be varied in scale and number to adapt to local requirements. Components in the exhibition included a mechanical simulation of the bird’s digestive system and a VR game where the player is a goose and has to feed while evading hunters.
