Software company SAP wanted an interactive installation to communicate how its cloud products could correlate data to reveal hidden meaning.

SAP Cloud is an interactive light cloud that changes colour based on the correlation of various statistics, such as the number of newborns or cheese consumption in Bulgaria. The interactive installation gives the visitor a visual understanding of the interrelationships between different phenomena expressed through statistical data and the role of these datasets in our daily lives. The installation was created in partnership with DDB agency for SAP.

SAP Cloud is a pixelated luminous cloud made of 500 plexiglass cubic elements and over 130 meters of LED strips hanging in the air. A control panel allows the audience to compare different datasets and see how the result visually changes the cloud’s color. The higher the correlation between the datasets, the more saturated the cloud’s blue color. If the data has little or no correlation, the cloud glows white.
